Egyptian Team Wins the Regional Finals of Schneider Electric’s Go Green Competition 2020

An Egyptian team of two undergraduate students: Habiba Abdelwahed, construction engineering senior at AUC who is minoring in business, and Abdallah Mohamed from the German University in Cairo, recently won the regional finals of Schneider Electric’s Go Green Competition. Competing against 5,367 participating members across the Middle East and Africa, team “Plastale” took the lead.

AUC Team Wins Second Place in Shell: Imagine the Future Competition

An AUC team won second place in Egypt in the Shell: Imagine the Future competition, competing with 129 teams from around the country. Held by the leading energy company Shell, the competition has student teams competing locally then globally to imagine scenarios on how the world will look like by 2050. This kind of non-linear futuristic thinking aims to encourage different organizations to stay on top of the world's changing landscape.

AUC's Society of Petroleum Engineers Receives International Student Excellence Award

AUC's Society of Petroleum Engineers received the Student Chapter Excellence Award for "accomplishing an admirable level of success." "Representing AUC was an honor," said Ahmed Negm '20, petroleum engineering graduate who served as marketing director and crisis manager of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. "We had aimed to achieve this award through planning, seeking challenges and constantly working on improving ourselves. We hope to always keep making AUC proud."
