Message from the Chair
Our programs are renowned globally for their exceptional blend of classroom-based education and hands-on experiential learning. The BSc in Petroleum Engineering program has equivalency from the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt and is accredited by ABET, ensuring high standards of quality and recognition.
Oil and gas service and operating companies train our students to actively contribute to petroleum and energy engineering in society and become leaders in a rapidly evolving world. We arrange internships for our students across various fields including geoscience, drilling, formation evaluation, well completion, petroleum production, and reservoir engineering, both domestically and internationally. Some of the prominent companies where our students gain experience include Schlumberger, Halliburton, Weatherford, Baker Hughes, Khalda Petroleum, El Amal (AMAPETCO), Pharaonic Petroleum, GASTEC, Vegas "Drilling", ADES, Rashid Company, Exxon Mobil, Egyptian Drilling Company, Agiba, Apache, Giant Oil Tools, EPRI Lab, PetroBel, NAPESCO, among others. These opportunities are invaluable in providing our students with industrial experience during their education, crucial for developing practical skills and achieving future career milestones.
Our faculty members are actively conducting research in different areas encompassing laboratory experiments, innovative material synthesis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality. Some of the notable research initiatives currently underway include: creating a new method to produce green hydrogen from saltwater, developing advanced materials for carbon capture and storage, designing a magnetic artificial lift pump, applying machine learning and AI to enhance safety and efficiency in petroleum and energy applications, and creating virtual reality simulations for various field applications in the petroleum and energy sectors.
