Director's Message
We are excited that you have chosen AUC and our Biotechnology Graduate Program to continue your training and education in the field. Our School is grounded in the liberal arts principles of science education, with an ongoing commitment to new and innovative approaches. It is my privilege to share some thoughts and information about our programs.
This program is designed to give you broad knowledge and training in biotechnology's scientific and practical aspects and introduce bio-entrepreneurship. It involves innovative, interdisciplinary learning approaches and hands-on to give you the necessary education and training in the scientific aspects of biotechnology.
Coursework will provide basic instructions on relevant topics, while the laboratory work (hands-on) research experience will be the foundation of your master's training. Expectations are for you to use your curiosity and novelty to explore new research trends, building a knowledge base to support your career in the biotechnology field.
The courses and research training offered in this Program are designed to develop independent thinking, teamwork, communication skills, and a deep understanding of the research techniques, which are highly desirable in the biotechnology industry. Soon after joining the Program, you will choose an advisor and form a thesis committee to monitor the project's progress and support when needed. The process of achieving a master's thesis degree will demand dedication and effort that goes far beyond your undergraduate experience.
All of us here, including the program director, program manager, faculty, and staff, are available to help you succeed in the Program. Do not hesitate to ask for our help whenever you have questions, concerns, or comments of any sort. Your success will be enhanced by your interactions with your peers and friends. Your decision to join a graduate degree program commits you to uphold the academic and ethical standards of AUC and the discipline of the Biotechnology Program.
We look forward to supporting your academic and personal success at AUC!
