Opportunities for undergraduate research are afforded to students. Undergraduate research is now a very important component of the Construction Engineering program. 

Over the past five years, the percentage of undergraduate students who had their work published in refereed international publications in reputable international journals and conferences ranged consistently from 20 to 30%. 

The publications result mostly from the student’s thesis (graduation project) work, their work in some courses involving advanced design, and the new undergraduate research assistantship opportunities offered by internal and external grants. 

These results are the product of the program's overall quality, students, and faculty who guide and support such endeavors.
