Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Registration
Eligibility
You are eligible to enter the FE exam when:
• You are a senior (in the last year) in an engineering program that is accredited by ABET
• You have graduated from an engineering program that is accredited by ABET
If your program is not accredited by ABET, you will need to ask NCEES to perform the credentials evaluation service for your degree. For more details about the credentials evaluation, click here.
The NCEES credentials evaluation service may identify general education deficiencies that need to be fulfilled. We offer general education courses for engineers to help candidates fulfill any general education deficiencies that may be identified.
Registration for the FE exam
The FE is administered year-round at our Pearson VUE Test Center.
The deadline for submitting the application and required documents is two weeks before the month of your exam.
Registration Process
Important Note: Your degree must be accredited by ABET or evaluated by NCEES in order to register for the FE exam. Applicants with degrees that are not ABET-accredited or have not been evaluated by NCEES will not be able to submit documents or pay fees to ESS.
