UniCellular: An Accurate and Ubiquitous Floor Identification System.

Moustafa Youssef,  professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, paper titled UniCellular: An Accurate and Ubiquitous Floor Identification System using Single Cell Tower Information was selected as the Best Paper Award Runner-up at the 31st ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems (ACM SIGSPATIAL 2023). ACM SIGSpatial is a premier annual conference in the area of spatial algorithms and systems. The paper was selected as one of the four best paper candidates out of about 250 papers. The proposed system in the paper is the first to provide a regulatory authority-compliant enhanced emergency response 3D localization based on a single cell tower information.
