Accreditation
Over the past few years, the Department of Physics went through a rigorous process of updating its curriculum. Currently, our curriculum is in one-to-one correspondence with the majority of our peer departments in the United States. The great majority of physics programs in the United States are not accredited by any accreditation body. The standards specified by the American Physical Society (APS) and the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) in their final Fall 2016 report are going to be adopted instead. More information about these standards can be found here.
However, the Department of Physics is conducting a rigorous assessment of our programs on a continuous basis in order to make sure that they are up to the standards of APS and AAPT.
