Program Overview
AUC’s physics program provides students with thorough and flexible training in the fundamental aspects of classical and modern physics. It devotes equal attention to three academic areas: teaching, research, and service to the community. The program produces high-caliber physicists committed to helping their country and capable of introducing creative solutions to current and future real-life problems.
Students of the Program
This program is suitable for students who are interested in the following:
- Understanding the universe in a fundamental way
- The theory of relativity
- Quantum mechanics
- Particle physics
Practical Experience
Many opportunities are available for students to gain hands-on experience, including internships in the solar industry and other areas of physics in prestigious research institutes in Egypt and abroad.

Faculty Spotlight
Professor Nageh Allam received his PhD from Pennsylvania State University and pursued his postdoctoral studies at both the Georgia Institute of Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has published more than 260 papers in reputed peer-reviewed international journals and has authored more than 160 conference articles. Allam has been named in the Stanford University-Elsevier list of the top 2% most-cited scientists worldwide for two years in a row: 2020 and 2021.
