Message from the Director
The Institute of Global Health and Human Ecology (I-GHHE) leverages The American University in Cairo's diverse intellectual resources to address pressing global challenges in health, sustainability, and human ecology through transdisciplinary collaboration and implementation science.
Established in 2018, I-GHHE breaks down traditional academic silos by integrating insights from the sciences, humanities, business, and public policy. This holistic approach is essential for developing sustainable, real-world solutions to issues like climate change and public health, directly supporting the UN’s 2030 SDGs.
The Institute's mission is powered by cutting-edge facilities and is grounded in community engagement through its Center for Applied Research on the Environment and Sustainability (CARES). I-GHHE is dedicated to translating research into tangible community action.
